Survivor Related

1. What do I have to do as a survivor?

a. Run For Your Lives is essentially a modified game of flag tag and you are the runner
while the zombies are the catcher. You will be given 3 life flags and you need to run
a distance of approximately 5km with obstacles and zombies in between, and try to
reach the end with at least one flag.

2. What time do I need to report for the race?

a. Please report 1 hour before your wave start time to collect your race pack, deposit
your belongings before heading to the start line for your race.

3. What are the flags around the waist for?

a. Each flag represent one Survivor’s Life i.e. 3 flags = 3 lives similar to how a video
game character has a certain life span. If you make it back to the finish line (Safe
Zone) with at least one life flag intact, you will receive a Survivor Medal, otherwise
you will receive an Infected Medal.

4. How should the flags be worn?

a. A true survivor earns their "Survivor" status by not cheating flagrantly. One flag
should be placed on each of your hips and one on your back. You may not tuck your
flags into your clothing, or you will be automatically disqualified. All flags should be
visible at all times.

5. What happens if all of my life flags have been taken by zombies?

a. If you enter the Safe Zone and cross the finish line without any life flags, you will be
marked as "Infected". If all of your flags have been taken while you are running the
course, you can still finish the race with your closest allies. You are NOT
automatically transformed into a Zombie, and you may NOT take another Survivor's
flags, chase other Survivors, or pick up flags off the ground.

6. How should I train for the race?

a. We recommend that you train up your stamina, cardio fitness, and agility (helps in
side stepping the zombies). For those with medical conditions, please check with
your doctor before any physical activities.

7. Can I skip an obstacle?

a. If you are unable to complete an obstacle due to physical or medical reasons, it is
your responsibility to notify an official to safely avoid the obstacle. However, you
cannot skip the zombie zones.

8. Can I bring weapons to protect myself against the undead?

a. No. Your only weapons will be your ability to run, dodge, and make quick decisions.

9. What if I get hurt?

a. Course officials and medical staff will be present during the entire event, and will
attend to you in the fastest time possible to patch you up.

10. I have trained my dog/cat/bird/child to defend me in case of a Zombie apocalypse. Can they
race with me?

a. No. Only registered participants meeting the age requirements will be allowed to
navigate the course. Please do not bring any pets to the event site; they will be
eaten by the zombies.

11. Will my race be timed?

a. No, this is not a timed event. The focus is on outwitting and outrunning the zombies
to ensure your survival.

12. What kind of obstacles should I expect?

a. Expect the unexpected. Our obstacles will be challenging, but not impossible. You
will be expected to go through a blood pit, mud crawl, spider webs and more, so
come prepared.

13. Will there be actual zombies?

a. It really depends on your definition of a zombie ;p

14. Will the zombies be grabbing, tripping, or biting participants?

a. Our zombies have specific instructions to only grab the survivors' life flags. We have
trained them well, and most of the zombies have the biting urge under control.

15. Will the zombies be chasing me slowly or quickly? Are they the walking dead or the running
dead?

a. If we were to tell you every detail, this wouldn't be fun at all. Our best advice: be
prepared to run, duck, dive, and dodge.

16. Can I come as a team?

a. Sure you can! We hope to have as many survivors on board in this evacuation to the
Safe Zone to preserve the human race. Just make sure you are registered in the
same wave timing.
You, as the leader, will need your friends’ name and email and pay on their behalf to
book their slot. A separate link will be sent to your friends for them to complete
their particulars.
If you have a group of friends who wants to register as different roles, please
register as a group of zombies first and write in to us stating your registration ID,
your friends’ registration name and ID that you wish to change their role, and we
will make the changes on the backend.

17. What should I wear to the run?

a. Wear your comfortable running attire and shoes that you’re willing to get dirty in, or
get fun and creative and come in costumes fitting to the theme. Please note that
you will only be receiving your event tee after the run.

18. What will I walk away with as a Survivor?

a. Apart from having the best last day of your life, you will receive a Run For Your Lives
Event Tee,  finisher’s medal as well as premiums from our sponsors at the finish
line. All souvenirs from the RFYL race must be picked up in person at the race itself.
We will not be mailing any of the items to you after the event.
